10K Run: 8 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. *

5K run/Walk: 8:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. *



* Runners will sign up for a staggered start time. Times will be no earlier than 8 a.m. for the 10k. Waves of 50 runners will be sent out every 5 minutes to reduce congestion at event. Please watch for email to sign up for your start time. If you do not sign up for a start time you will be given one. 

Tamarac Turkey Trot, Fremont, MI 2021:

Move your feet before you eat. Now in its tenth year, Turkey Trot has something for everyone.

  • 5K Run/Walk
  • 10K

All participants, including walkers, will have a bib and chip for 2021. Both 5K and 10K will be chip start. 


The race starts and ends at Tamarac and will feature a staggered start with 10K and 5K runners/walkers crossing the starting line first. Prizes for top overall female/male winner and master’s female/male. All participants will receive a finisher gift at the end of the race.

  • To reduce congestion at the end of the race, no age group winners will be awarded this year.


Results of the race will be posted online.

We recommend signing up early for the 2021 races. Late registration will be available throughout the week at Tamarac, pre-race. No race day registration will be available. We will cap the race at 400.


Because of vendor supply and shipping, in order to guarantee your shirt size, you must register before October 15.


Registrations are nontransferable, and fees are nonrefundable.

Event Check-in/Late Registration

Thank you for joining us for 10 years of Thanksgiving tradition! We are excited to be able to offer an in-person event this year. Things will be a little different. Please see instructions below to make sure that you are prepared for Thanksgiving Day!

Packet Pickup-SignUpGenius

  • Packet pickup will be Friday, November 19 through Wednesday, November 24.
    • Sign up for a time through SignUpGenius to come and pick up your packet. Come to Tamarac during your designated time slot.
    • If picking up for more than one person, please add names to the comment box when signing up.
  • Packet pickup on race day.
    • A tent will be setup outside on the patio at Tamarac. No race day registration will be available.
  • When you pick up your packet, you will receive your shirt and bib.
    • You are responsible to check age, gender, and distance on your race registration, let our staff know of any changes.
      • All participants will receive a bib this year with a timing chip. Walkers and runners will all be timed.
      • Guaranteed shirt size ended October 18 this year because of vendor and shipping delays. We have tried our best to make sure that you received the shirt size that was requested.
    • No shirt exchange will occur this year.
      • If leftover shirts are available, they will be available for purchase at Tamarac after race day.

Sign up for your race day wave time:

  • All 10K runners will start at 8:00 a.m.
  • All 5K runners/walkers, will need to sign up for a race wave through SignUpGenius
    • Waves will consist of 50 participants
    • Make sure to sign up your whole group in the wave time that works the best. Instructions are available on SignUpGenius.
  • Remember your bib race day!
    • Safety pins are provided in your race bag.

Finish/Awards and results

  • All participants will receive their finisher gift when they pass the finish line.
  • First place prizes will be awarded for the 5k and 10k Male and Female Overall and Master’s winners. This year, winners will receive a quarter zip long sleeve shirt. A sample of the shirt will be available at the timing tent for sizing.
  • Times will be posted on Facebook and RunSign up

COVID 19 protocols:

  • If you have been feeling ill or have been exposed to COVID, please do not attend.
  • Exit the finishing area after receiving your finisher gift.
  • Do not congregate around the finish area. If waiting for family and friends to finish, please allow for social distancing between your party and another.
  • Masking is highly encouraged if you are unable to social distance.


  • Tamarac’s building will be closed this year on race day. Portable restrooms will be available outside, along the East parking lot.
    • Please leave gear in your vehicle.
  • Please park at the South side of the main parking lot or in the West parking lot.
  • There will be areas that are marked volunteers only and racers only.
  • As always strollers and dogs are welcomed.
  • Please remember this is an open course race with live traffic. Please abide by normal traffic regulations.
  • First aid station will be located at the timing tent by the finish line. Emergency services will be available throughout the course.
  • No water station will be available along the course.
  • No race day registration!
  • All races are timed this year, this includes all 5k walkers.

Miscellaneous Race Notes

  • Dogs and strollers are allowed on the course
  • Weather conditions vary from year to year and Turkey Trot is an open road race, so please dress accordingly
  • In case of severe weather, event directors reserve the right to cancel the race without refunds
  • Extra shirts will be sold the week after Turkey Trot for $15
  • 10K participants: You must be at the aid station for your second time at or before 9:15 a.m. for course support. Course support at Stone Road will end at 9:30 a.m.
  • Because of COVID-19, please watch your email, Facebook and website for the latest information regarding the race.
