At this level, children should be able to step from the side into chest-deep water, push off the bottom of the pool, and move into a treading or floating position for at least 15 seconds. They also should be able to swim on their front or their back for at least five body lengths.
Frogs will work on the following skills:
- Jumping from the side, fully submerged then recovering to the surface and returning to the side of the pool
- Bobbing while moving to safety
- Rotary breathing
- Survival floating and treading water for 30 to 60 seconds
- Swimming front crawl for at least 25 yards
